The Club 420 Racer class is an exciting opportunity to fully experience the fun and challenge of sailing at a higher level. Designed for students who have shown their ability to sail at a high level in the Club 420 Explorer or Advanced courses. Students will develop racing concepts including starts, upwind and downwind sailing, as well as boat trim for speed, racing rules, strategy, tactics, and more. The class meets Monday- Friday from 9:00 – 3:30 for two weeks.
On select Fridays, the Club 420 Racers are encouraged to compete in local TCYS regattas. These regattas are held around the metro area. There is a $20 registration fee for each regatta.
Ages: 13-17
Prerequisite: 1-2 weeks of Club 420 Explorer (and instructor approval) or Club 420 Advanced.
Every student will receive:
- The annual Saint Croix Sailing School T-Shirt.
- The Little Red Book. The Little Red Book is US Sailing’s certification system. As sailors progress, instructors will sign off on the skills mastered.

Description:
We are located at the south end of 1st Street in Riverfront Park, just outside the gate to the marina. There are a couple of buildings and many sailboats in the area. Parking is available on 1st Street.
Drop Off & Pick Up of Kids:
Staff will be on hand to scan your ticket at drop off and pick up of your student. Parents/guardians in vehicles can now drop off kids without leaving your car! Please print or bring up your ticket on your cell phone to speed the process. Ticket and ID will be required for pick up of youths.
Adult Students:
The school is your primary meeting point, but your instructor may give you alternate locations for parking and lessons based upon boat locations in the harbor.
