Help Us

The Saint Croix Sailing School is a volunteer-run non-profit 501(c)(3) school (tax status pending). We’re committed to providing affordable access to boats and water for youth throughout our area. Our mission is to educate kids on the principles of water safety, boat handling, river stewardship, and seamanship and navigation. We will support the kids of our area from beginning sailors through any level of competition an athlete may choose to pursue. We expect kids coming to our school to encounter life lessons that will help them succeed in all their future pursuits. And we hope to encourage the development of a life-long love of sailing and a deep respect for our natural environment.

There are three primary ways you can help:

  1. Donate to our scholarship fund. 100% of donations to this fund will be earmarked to help fund scholarships for prospective sailors that need a little help with fees. Our goal is that no kid will be denied access to our programs for financial reasons.
  2. Donate to our equipment fund. To keep costs as low as possible, class fees are designed to cover only the cost of instructor payroll. We do have ongoing boat maintenance and replacement costs, so we must raise money to cover those expenses. 100% of equipment fund donations will be earmarked for boat maintenance and replacement; the long-term goal is to grow this fund into an equipment endowment for the school.
  3. Donate your time. We are an all-volunteer organization. We can use your help in a variety of ways. Consider volunteering for a specific one-time task, join a committee or join our board. We will welcome any and all help offered.
